A female tiger was found dead on Sunday, January 4, in the Paschim Bimoli area of the Western Range Bagori in Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, Assam. Forest staff found the tiger during their regular patrol inside the forest.
Officials said the tiger was found inside the protected area of the park. There were no signs of poaching or human involvement at the site. No traps, injuries from weapons, or illegal activity were seen.
Early investigation shows that the tiger may have died due to a natural fight with another tiger. Tigers are territorial animals. They often fight to protect their area, food, or mating space. Such fights sometimes lead to serious injuries or death.
Forest officials said Kaziranga has a healthy tiger population. When more tigers live in one area, fights between them can happen. These natural conflicts are part of wildlife life in the forest.
