Kaziranga National Park Enhances Flood Protection Before Monsoon Arrival

Authorities at the Burhapahar Range of Kaziranga National Park have completed extensive preparations to deal with the approaching monsoon floods. Considering the severe flooding witnessed every year in the region, the forest department has taken several proactive measures to protect wildlife and ensure highway safety during the rainy season. Essential rescue equipment has already been arranged and kept ready for emergency operations.

According to Range Officer Nilay Bora, rescue resources such as traditional boats, motorboats, and life jackets have been deployed across vulnerable areas for immediate use if flood conditions worsen. In addition, forest staff have received specialised training and remain on high alert to respond quickly during rescue missions and wildlife protection activities.

One of the major priorities this season is ensuring the safe movement of wild animals crossing the national highway while migrating to higher ground during floods. To reduce the risk of accidents, authorities have strengthened monitoring efforts and appealed to drivers to maintain low speeds and remain extremely cautious while travelling through the area near Kaziranga National Park.

The forest department expressed confidence that these early preparations will play an important role in protecting both wildlife and local residents during the upcoming flood season.
