
A rare albino hog deer has been spotted inside Kaziranga National Park, attracting attention towards the incredible biodiversity of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared visuals of the uncommon animal sighting on social media platform X and called it a remarkable moment showcasing Assam’s rich wildlife heritage.
“Not every day does one witness something this rare,” the chief minister stated in his post.
He further mentioned that the sighting reflects Assam’s continued commitment to wildlife conservation and the protection of even the rarest species living in the state’s forests.
Kaziranga National Park is widely known for its exceptional biodiversity and shelters several endangered and rare wildlife species, including the one-horned rhinoceros, wild buffaloes, swamp deer, and tigers.
